I offer free crochet patterns here on my website with the option to purchase PDFs in my Etsy and Ravelry Pattern Shops.
My patterns all include the written portion for the squares along with a full video tutorials linked from my YouTube Channel (@nautikrallcrochet).
I specialize in putting a modern spin on classic and new granny square patterns as well as colour combinations written out fully for those wanting to make the blankets and pillows exactly as pictured.

Getting started is simple. Pick a pattern here under the “free patterns” tab and scroll through several pages to find one that speaks to you! It’s never too early or too late to start crocheting. If you prefer to learn visually, you’ll find video tutorials linked to my YouTube account to help you finish each step of the pattern.

Ever loved a pattern but could never find the yarn or exact colours to make it? That’s my specialty!
Each pattern has a detailed chart or colour coding with every single square combination in all the colours so you can make the exact blankets as pictured.

If you’ve purchased through Etsy or Ravelry, it’s best to contact me via those platform’s messaging systems.

This is a question I receive all the time! The answer may surprise you…
For blankets, some people like to block their squares individually before joining. It’s part of the process for them and something they love. Others have to do it this way as they don’t have room to lay out an entire blanket once it’s all put together! So, personal preference.
As for me, I wait until the very end of the project and then wash and block my blankets according to the yarn label. If it says hand wash—- HANDWASH. I always wash in cold water, wool wash, with a colour catcher. **Please note that some hand dyed yarns (and regular!!) bleed, if you’ve joined your squares with a light coloured yarn, be wary of this. In those cases, it may be best to wash and block squares BEFORE joining.
With all of that said, you don’t NEED to block a blanket (and certainly not the pillows, they sort themselves out once stretched over the pillow form). It’s mostly a looks thing. It’s not the same as when making crochet garments that need blocking for shape, drape and gauge requirements.
Truly, it is personal and entirely up to you :)

Not to worry, it’s happens all the time! Most people can’t access their download because they’re trying to do so via the Etsy app. The app doesn’t support downloading files so you’ll need to sign into Etsy via a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox etc…).
From there, you’ll be able to go into your profile, click on “Purchases and Receipts” and the download link will be right there!
If you WERE NOT SIGNED INTO your Etsy account while checking out with Apple Pay, you’ll find that Apple has sent your email link to your apple ID email (regardless if you use it or not). Your best bet is to message me on Etsy with your email address that you would like me to send it to, and I’ll happily send the PDF to that email for you.
*Please note that I respond to those messages Monday-Friday 9am-5pm EST.

Yes, you may!
As long as you’re not copying my pattern and selling the written patterns and video’s as your own, then you’re in the clear!

Not to worry! Hue Loco and her team are regularly re-dying each kit.
Numbers matter here folks, so if you’re interested in a specific kit, sign up to be notified by clicking on it and inputting your email address. This lets Hue Loco and her team know how many people want it, and how many should be dyed up!
Occasionally, Nicole (Hue Loco) and I will decide it’s time to retire a kit. There will be lots of notice on socials about this and our emails. It will also be clearly indicated in the patterns when the yarn was discontinued. Once it’s been fully retired, it will no longer show up on the NautiKrall portion of the Hue Loco website.

CAL stands for “crochet along”. For the past couple years myself and Nicole at Hue Loco Yarn have hosted a CAL to make a blanket. 2025 was the Succulents CAL, 2026 is the Fractals CAL.
It’s a monthly yarn subscription with surprise colour ways arriving each month in the mail. Every month the group crochets a bunch of motifs and join them at the end of the year.
Each year in November, the yarn subscription opens for the next years CAL and Nicole and I spend a great deal of time on Instagram and in Emails sharing as much info as we can. We share colour palette and theme and the blanket design. True colours of each skein are not revealed until the first of each month throughout the CAL itself.
You can find all the particulars (and Facebook group sign-up) here in the pattern on Ravelry for this years Fractals CAL: Ravelry: Astrid Hexie Fractals CAL Blanket pattern by Mallory Krall
