Intro:

It was pretty clear to me when I opened the box that what I had originally planned for this collection wasn’t going to work out. How on earth could I make pillows do justice to this yarn!?!?! I audibly gasped when I opened it. As far as collections go-this one tops my charts. It’s got everything I love…a good blend of “bright and fun”… mixed with “warm and wearable”. I think there’s something for everyone in this particular collection and as a whole it works as a gorgeous fade. The Farmers Market Collection from Hue Loco  is now re-opened for pre-order (3-4 weeks processing time), but you can still make this blanket using a rainbow lineup of your favourite yarn. I have some of my favourites listed in the yarn section if you want to check it out!

I’m going to use all 10 colours from the Farmers Market Collection in my blanket and fade them with my forever favourite Bare Swish DK Weight yarn from WeCrochet or Knit Picks. Every year during their Black Friday sale, I stock up on DK weight and Worsted weight bare yarns. They’re perfect for joining scarves, blankets, cowls, baby blankets-you name it! I always have a large stash on hand and it hasn’t failed me yet.

Pattern Notes

  • Gauge will affect yarn quantities, please adjust hook size to meet gauge.

  • Ch 2 counts as DC throughout.

  • Please note that the quantities listed above are exact quantities I had leftover. I made 10 hexagons per colour-the differences in amounts used can be attributed to variances in the 100g skein itself (sometimes you can get up to 4g extra!) and differences in my tension-as well as positioning in the blanket.

  • The Colour Legend is my attempt to provide you with colour accurate photos/generic colour names that you can use if you’d like to find an alternative yarn (the actual yarn name will be provided below in brackets).

  • Blanket is constructed using JAYG, where each hexagon is completed while joining to the previous motif. If you choose to join your blanket a different way-please note yarn quantities will differ (you’ll need more).

  • Don’t forget to share your makes on Instagram and Facebook! I always love seeing what you have all worked up. Tag me on Instagram @nautikrallcrochet or Facebook @nautikrall_crochet, or use the hashtag: #summerfadehexie
