One of my favourite things to do, is take a favourite pattern of mine and put a chunky spin on it. I love creating these chunky yarn blankets because they’re very quick to work up, simple and stunning! Wool Ease Thick & Quick is my favourite super chunky yarn but you can use any yarn that you prefer! This blanket is an absolute joy to work up. Only 2 round squares that go by so fast. The result is a blanket the whole family can curl up under and I’ve provided 9 additional colour charts to help you find the perfect match!

The weather’s starting to turn in my part of the world and that means I’m totally ready to be snuggled up in a blanket, making blankets and buying ALL THE YARN. While I love the original Coastline Sunburst Hexie Blanket Pattern— this super chunky version has my heart singing! Just like last years Special Edition Island Time Blanket, this one is quick to work up-the colour combinations are endless, and the result is a giant blanket my entire family can curl up under. Movie night…here we come :)

Because of the success and love for last years Special Edition Blankets; Steph (@thecreativeknitter) and I decided that this blanket needed to be a crochet-a-long (CAL). What’s more fun than the squishiest blanket I can think of and building community!? I can think of nothing. This is one of those blankets that just makes me smile. I’ve always wanted a sunflower blanket but wasn’t in love with the way sunflowers were traditionally crocheted. My goal was to create a sunflower that looks perfectly imperfect (the way nature intended), while being simple to crochet and work up quickly.
